RAL P1 has been the RAL colour standard for plastics since 2010. RAL P1 provides the 100 world‘s most frequently requested colours from the RAL CLASSIC collection. For industry and the trades, the RAL P1 colours are indispensable – for plastics in particular. RAL P2 PLASTICS is introducing new design options for precise colour communication in the plastics sector. RAL P2 contains 160 opaque and 40 special, transparent colours. RAL has handpicked the 200 new RAL P2 colours from the internationally renowned RAL DESIGN System used by architects, designers and product designers. With the introduction of RAL PLASTICS the inaccuracies, that were often unfortunate by-products of the old method of translating RAL paint samples into plastics colours, now belong to the past. This means that plastics manufacturers and plastics processors can now save time, costs and raw materials.

Polypropylene was intentionally chosen for RAL PLASTICS. It is a bulk plastic used in many manufactured products because of its balanced property profile and excellent value for money. Its applicability in a wide variety of manufacturing processes and compatibility with a wide variety of dyes also speak in favour of this plastic.
